José Cordero did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Scranton Supernovas from losing, 7-4, to the Bloomington Longnecks at Lookouts Ballpark. Cordero was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jim Unknown earned the win for Bloomington. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Esteban Arroyo earned the save, his 4th.
Also making an impact was shortstop Gabriel Díaz, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third for Bloomington. For the game, Díaz was 1-3 with a walk.
"It feels good to get this one," Díaz told the Bloomington Today.
Bloomington goes to 31-14. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
