Red Pandas Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Longnecks
|
Bloomington got a terrific performance from pitcher Bob Weatherall, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Sioux Falls won the Lookouts Ballpark contest, 4-1. Weatherall was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Sioux Falls reliever Hwen-thiang Qin, now 1-0. The loser was Enrique López. Carlos Guzmán closed the door for Sioux Falls, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Sioux Falls grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Joaquín Rangel delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Red Pandas.
"We'll build on this win," said Rangel.
The win pushes Sioux Falls to a record of 4-7.
