Hotspur Fall Short at Northern Virginia
The Northern Virginia Retrievers defeated the Phoenix Hotspur, 10-5, at Chase Field. Northern Virginia first baseman Donald Thompson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 1 for 1 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Retrievers go to 48-45, putting them 7th in the Division II.

An important at-bat for Northern Virginia came with two out in the top of the 11th. With the bases loaded, Thompson hit a bases-clearing double, which contributed to the Retrievers win.
