Cervantes Bashes 5 Base Hits Sunday, May 19th, 2024 It was high-5 day at Ballpark of Remsen, at least for José Cervantes of the Long Island Seawolves. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Tacoma Fur Traders, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Cervantes smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Long Island still dropped the game 10-7. His manager said, "José was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Cervantes bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." José Cervantes hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. |
