The Grafton Middies topped the Detroit Renaissance by the score of 9-6, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Ramón Gómez. Gómez went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Middies. Truman Valentine picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Domingo Ramírez was tagged with the loss. Lynwood Matos, credited with the save, is now 24 for 24 in save opportunities.

Gómez had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Domingo Ramírez, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Middies a 7-6 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Gómez.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Gómez.

The Middies improved to 41-38.
