Both teams had their chances, but the Grafton Middies eventually prevailed at Field of the Middies.
The Grafton Middies picked up a win at Field of the Middies, knocking off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-2. Starting pitcher António Marés played a key role in the triumph. The Middies now have a record of 35-33.
Grafton took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ramón Rivera stroked a 2-run double to make it 3-1, Middies.
"I thought we played a nice game," Rivera told the Grafton News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
