Hernández Excels in Austin Win
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Tony Hernández, the Austin Rangers defeated the New Amsterdam Republics, 15-4. Hernández went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4 for the Rangers. Ernest Torres picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 4-1. The Rangers raised their record to 31-29.

Also having an impact was designated hitter Jesús Reyes, who stroked a 2-run double in the bottom of the second for Austin. For the game, Reyes went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
