Sullivan Twirls Shutout
The Austin manager told reporters after the game, "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy. The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."

He was talking about Lester Sullivan, who had just hurled a fine 2-hit shutout over the Grafton Middies. He had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the Austin 7-0 victory.

"An outstanding job," the Grafton manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
