The Alameda Airmen and South Beach Blaze obliged those fans who came to Alameda Field hoping for an exciting game.

Pau Arria did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the South Beach Blaze from losing, 7-6, to the Alameda Airmen at Alameda Field. Arria went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mal Houser, credited with the win, is now 9-7. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Diego Vázquez was credited with the save for Alameda, his 1st of the season.

Also playing a key role was Armando Carmona. The Alameda right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, Carmona was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Nervous? No," said Carmona. "It was my time to shine."

The 9th-place Airmen lifted their record to 33-51.
