South Beach pitcher Ricardo Gómez did his part in helping his team beat the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The third-place Black Cats have lost 5 consecutive games.

Early in the game, shortstop Pau Arria had a run-scoring double for South Beach. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Blaze on top, 1-0.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Gómez told reporters after the game.
