Chicago turned a good effort from starter Eduardo García into a win over the Walla Walla Walleye at Ramblers Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. García picked up the win for Chicago, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Juan Valdéz earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
In the bottom of the 5th, Chicago took the lead on a 2-run single by Héctor Rivera. At the time, the Tula were trailing 2-1, but Rivera's hit with two outs against Walla Walla pitcher Bennett Garland put them in front, 3-2.
In postgame remarks, García said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
The Chicago Tula, now 5-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
