Scott Kerin helped his team muscle past the Hogsmeade Cauldrons, 5-2. In the game, the Louisiana left fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Louisiana reliever Woody Hudson got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Javier Pérez was tagged with the loss. Drew Cullen recorded the save for Louisiana, his 8th of the season.
Louisiana took a 4-2 lead on Armond Merlin's 47th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Merlin hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hogsmeade pitcher José Morales shaking his head.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Kerin.
Louisiana occupies 7th place in the Silver A at 30-38.
