Both teams had their chances, but the Louisiana Dragoons eventually prevailed at The Coffin.
Louisiana Dragoons starter Nathan Moree was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Grim Reapers, 6-2. Moree was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 1 walk.
Jesús Calderón, who is tied for 5th in the SA in runs scored with 8, aided the Louisiana cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We did a lot of things right," said Moree.
The Grim Reapers, now 5-8, continue their poor start.
