1787 BC Rally For Late Win Over Chukars
|
The Delaware 1787 BC faced a tough opponent in Idaho Falls pitcher Shotaro Sugahara, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Carrier Field by a final score of 6-3. Sugahara went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Apollo Cepeda got the save, the 21st for him this season. The 1787 BC, at 44-19, sit in first place in the Menard's A.
Sam Quint found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Idaho Falls hurler Roberto Guillén, the 19-year-old second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 23rd walk of the season put the 1787 BC on top, 4-3.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Quint.
