Dogfish Head Come Back Late to Clip Men
|
Despite a great performance by Florida second baseman Raúl Ruíz, the Milton Dogfish Head defeated the Men by the score of 6-4 at Milton Corner Tavern. Ruíz went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Milton reliever Luis De La Hoya, now 3-2. The loser was Alberto Ríos. Jim Unknown was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Late in the game, pinch hitter Sean Booth had a big at-bat for Milton. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Alberto Ríos. The play gave the Dogfish Head a 4-3 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Booth told the Milton Gazette.
The 8th-place Men have dropped 5 straight games.
