Thunder Hawks Suffer 6-3 Setback
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and San Bernardino Grasshoppers brought some excitement to Thunder Hawks Ballpark.
San Bernardino beat Ft. Polk South at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, eking out a 6-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Jean-François Chapon, who earned player of the game honors. With the win, the Grasshoppers improved to 9-15.
Tied up with the Thunder Hawks in the top of the fifth, the Grasshoppers got a boost from first baseman Mario Nieves. With a runner on 1st, Nieves saw a 2-2 fastball from José Molina and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put San Bernardino on top, 3-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Nieves said after the game.
