Polar Bears Pin 7-2 Loss on Farmers
|
Lancaster got a terrific performance from pitcher Will Clark, but it wasn't enough to beat the Billings Polar Bears. Billings won the Farmers Field contest, 7-2. Clark was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He came in in relief and pitched to 16 batters . Billings reliever Jesús Díaz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Steve Brown absorbed the loss. The win moves Billings to a record of 5-6.
Also having an impact was left fielder Jorge Díaz, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth for Billings. For the game, Díaz was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"It feels good to get that win," said Díaz. "Now it's on to the next one."
