Hawks Cut Down BC, 2-1
|
Tom Bowen never let the Louisville BC find their groove. Throughout the game, Bowen relied on his bread and butter, his cutter, in pitching the Hawks to a win. Bowen got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Bowen allowed 1 earned run. After today's action, Chicago sits at 21-42, while Louisville falls to 29-34.
Chicago grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jeff Conklin delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Hawks.
"Tom did a tremendous job," said Chicago manager Anthony Yaghmour.
