The Fighting Dachsunds faced a stiff challenge from Naperville pitcher Louis McDowell, but persevered to claim a win at Constellation Ballpark. The final score was 6-5. McDowell went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Tom Bowen closed the door for Ellenburg, picking up his 3rd save of the year. With the win, the Fighting Dachsunds have a record of 17-20.
Ellenburg grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Victor Haley delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Fighting Dachsunds.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ellenburg manager Armando Saldaña.
