Ambler Slugs Miners to 6-3 Win
It was a good time at Marquette Stadium, where fans came to watch the Belvedere Park Rawhides and Marquette Miners get after it.

Marquette beat Belvedere Park at Marquette Stadium, escaping with a 6-3 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Gerald Ambler, who earned player of the game honors. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Addick Lubbers converted his 8th save in 11 tries.

Ambler had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the fourth. On a full count fastball from Earnest Cogan, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Miners a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Ambler.

"We'll savor this win," Ambler told the Marquette Times, "then get ready for the next game."

With the victory, the Miners record now stands at 46-33.
