Deuces Prevail, 5-2, Over Richland

The Virginia Beach Deuces did just enough to sneak past the Richland Rails, 5-2, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Virginia Beach pitcher Miguel Álvarez earned player of the game honors. Virginia Beach reliever Ronaldo Baghina picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Luis Bejarano was saddled with the loss. Jim Unknown recorded the save for Virginia Beach, his 1st of the season.
António Acosta aided the Virginia Beach cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances.
"We take it day by day here," said Álvarez, "and today was a good one for us."
Virginia Beach is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 6 games.
