Longnecks Shut Out Bay Hawks
|
Bloomington Longnecks starter Ryan Peterson turned in a top-notch performance against the Wilmington Bay Hawks at Lookouts Ballpark. The result was a win for the Longnecks, 7-0. William Waters closed the door for Bloomington, picking up his 1st save of the year. The win puts the Longnecks at 57-44, while the Bay Hawks drop to 35-66.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Gonzalo López was at the plate when Bloomington scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Longnecks to go in front, 1-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Wilmington manager Wayne Erickson.
