Tight Tilt Goes to Bay Hawks, 4-3
|
The Wilmington Bay Hawks picked up a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, knocking off the Hamilton Coyotes, 4-3. Starting pitcher Augusto Ramos, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Coyotes, at 26-41, have lost 4 straight games.
In the top of the 6th, third baseman Broderick Terry gave Wilmington the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Bay Hawks had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off Hamilton pitcher Martin Bennett changed that -- and Wilmington went on to win.
"We'll savor this win," Terry told the Wilmington Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
