Swanson Dominant in Republics Victory
|
The New Amsterdam Republics got a magnificent performance from pitcher Rusty Swanson, who muffled the Houston offense en route to a tight 2-0 Republics win at Houston Grounds. The last-place Republics are now 30-68, the 1837 BBC 48-50.
The Republics liked what they saw from Swanson. The 20-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the 1837 BBC to no earned runs on 4 hits over 8.2 innings, and striking out 7.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Houston manager Tyler Johnson said following the tough loss.
