Sánchez Batters Battle Ground for 5 Hits Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Fernando Sánchez told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for the Salem first baseman today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against Battle Ground. But not so good for his team, as the Aeros took the game at Battle Ground Stadium, whipping the Misfits 9-8. Fernando Sánchez singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and singled in the 9th. This season Sánchez has hit at a .356 clip with 23 RBIs, 3 home runs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 25 games. |
