Drummers Blair Suspended 3 Games Thursday, September 5th, 2024 The agitation was hot and heavy at Drummers Ballpark yesterday. After a called third strike Drummers center fielder Stephen Blair protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Blair was ejected from the game. "It was verbal, nothing more," according to Blair. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 3 games. "The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification. So far this season Blair is batting .269 with 4 home runs. |
