Downey Records Shutout Against Brinkley Saturday, July 29th, 2023 Wayne Downey had an impressive outing today. He hurled the Port Royal Disaster to a 8-0 shutout victory over the Brinkley Belugas, yielding 2 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Brinkley skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." This season Downey has compiled a 4-6 mark with a 3.23 ERA. |
