Injury Worsens, Salt Lake City's Soto Ends Career
Sunday, September 29th, 2024
At a press conference in Salt Lake City, the Buzz manager announced the grim news that starting pitcher Ismael Soto had sustained a career-ending injury, "It can't be repaired, he's done." Soto was recovering from a torn rotator cuff and the rehab was going better than expected, when he had this setback. "It's really a big disappointment. Ismael was doing so well and then this happened. All of us thought he was back. He was working out and everything was fine according to the doctors. Ismael was looking great, then we got this terrible news. It really is a sad situation." Soto was not available for comment.

Since joining the league, Soto has compiled an ERA of 5.36 with a career record of 3-4. He has 62 strikeouts in 82.1 innings and has held opponents to a .297 batting average.
