Alameda's Mejía Calls It a Career, Suffers Setback and Retires Sunday, May 12th, 2024 Tough news out of Alameda for Francisco Mejía, 21-year-old shortstop for the Airmen. According to a team spokesman, "Mejía suffered a potential career-ending injury during a workout yesterday." It was another devastating setback for Mejía, who now might be facing a forced retirement. His rehabilitation from a concussion was going well. His doctors were pleased with his progress and thought he might be activated soon. Then the ultimate injury happened. |
