García Hurls No-Hitter Against Youth Thursday, June 15th, 2023 The Marquette Miners were only hoping for a solid outing from Ramiro García, instead the 22-year-old pitcher tossed a no-hitter against the Phoenix Hotspur Youth. Using a brilliant mix of off-speed pitches and fastballs, García kept the Phoenix Hotspur hitters off balance all game long in the 7-0 victory at Marquette Stadium. The Marquette hurler fanned 7 and walked 3 in his record-making performance. "I felt pretty good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Miners. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I was not nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special." That something special got his name in the league record books. This season García has compiled a 4-2 mark with a 3.07 ERA in 8 starts. |
