Great Day for Vásquez -- 5 Hits Monday, May 22nd, 2023 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Asheville's Paco Vásquez had a very special day against the Blue Sox when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Asheville Highlanders to a 12-3 win at Nortonville Grounds. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Vásquez said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Paco Vásquez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. Vásquez is currently batting .308 with no home runs and 2 RBIs. |
