SS García Receives 3-Game Suspension Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 There was a hostile encounter between Juan García and the men in blue in yesterday's Ft. Polk South-Tacoma game. The Thunder Hawks shortstop was tossed for arguing a called third strike. Actually he did a little more than just complain about the call -- he got in the umpire's face and had to be restrained by his manager. "I don't think I did anything to deserve to be thrown out of the game in the first place, never mind be suspended," García stated. "That's unbelievable. I still don't know why he threw me out of the game. I didn't charge over there until after he gave me the heave-ho." The league office did not agree with his assessment of the confrontation and suspended García for 3 games. Currently García is hitting .313 and has collected 7 home runs, 61 RBIs and scored 54 times, while playing in 88 games. |
