League Suspends Martínez and Blanca for Fisticuffs Wednesday, July 26th, 2023 Following a mass brawl, the league has suspended Fernando Martínez of Hammond and Fernando Blanca of Louisiana. The players will have to sit out 11 games each after trouble flared up between the Herons and the Dragoons at a recent game at The Heron Refuge. For the year Martínez has hit .232 with 1 home run, 18 RBIs and scored 13 runs. This season Blanca has chalked up no saves, notched a 0-1 record with a 2.33 ERA, allowed 17 hits in his 19.1 innings of work, struck out 17 and walked 11. Opponents are hitting .243 against the Louisiana hurler. |
