Vázquez Belts 5 Hits Thursday, July 20th, 2023 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Roberto Vázquez -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, but the performance lost a little glitter when the Dragonblood were downed 7-4 by the Louisiana Dragoons. After his sparkling batting performance the Yellowknife center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too." Roberto Vázquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the season, Vázquez is hitting at a .406 clip with no home runs, 4 RBIs and has scored 5 runs. He has 13 hits, 3 walks and a .457 on-base percentage. |
