Hernández Smacks 5 Hits for Screaming Eagles Saturday, September 17th, 2022 It was a hits blitz for Luis Antonio Hernández at Grenadiers Ballpark. The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles left fielder tore into Phoenix Hotspur for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Screaming Eagles to a 11-6 victory and to put up a career day. The manager for the Youth bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Hernández, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Luis Antonio Hernández singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kevin Samuels in the 8th. This season Hernández is batting .316 with 12 home runs. His totals include 70 RBIs and 66 runs scored. |
