Britt 5-for-6 for Long Island Friday, August 19th, 2022 Scott Britt exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Nortonville Grounds. The Long Island catcher had a field day in the 26-4 triumph over the Asheville Highlanders, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Britt must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Scott Britt singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Gus Gamble in the 8th. Britt is hitting .304 for the season with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 7 hits in 23 at-bats and played in 5 games. |
