Sonics Stop Adams at 20 Monday, September 12th, 2022 For once, it was the Herons picking up Victor Adams. Their offensive catalyst, as the Glendale manager calls him, saw his 20-game hitting streak snapped as Adams was held hitless by the Atlantic City Sonics at Heron Field. The 21-year-old left fielder went 0-for-4. It should have made for a lousy day, but his teammates picked up the slack and whipped the Sonics 3-2. At the press conference after the game, Adams told reporters, "Everybody did the job but me. No problem, we won the game." Asked how he felt about the streak ending, he grinned and replied, "It was a good run. I'll try to start another one tomorrow." So far this season Adams is hitting .305 with 9 home runs. |
