Weston 5-for-5 for Belugas Sunday, July 3rd, 2022 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Jason Weston got one today. He scattered hits all over Belugas Ballpark to pace Brinkley to a 10-8 victory over Tremont. The Tremont skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Weston hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Jason Weston singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th. This year Weston has batted at a .255 pace with 38 hits, 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 17 times. |
