Sato Goes on Rampage Against Disaster Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Ballpark of Port Royal when Reijiro Sato of Vermont scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Port Royal Disaster. He walloped 5 hits in 7 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Lake Monsters get by the Disaster 28-4. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the catcher of the Lake Monsters said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-for-7. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Reijiro Sato singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Mac Merritt in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This year Sato has batted at a .276 pace with 80 hits, 5 home runs, 46 RBIs and scored 44 times. |
