Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Woods Friday, October 28th, 2022 Kevin Woods of the Vancouver Grey Wolves proved this season that age is just a number, as the 37-year-old relief stud turned in a season that was better than all his Silver League peers. "Winning the Reliever of the Year Award at age 37 is something I didn't really expect, but I'll take it," he said. Woods's strong season saw him fashion a 1.89 ERA through 57 innings. He had 36 saves in 54 relief appearances and also put up 55 strikeouts and 12 walks. Opponents hit only .222 against the tough reliever. Gavin Blackburn of the New Amsterdam Republics finished second in voting, while Burt Booth of the Toledo Titans finished third. |
