Game Over for Rodríguez Sunday, June 20th, 2021 All good things must end. So it does for the career of Athletic Club KC Academy center fielder Jorge Rodríguez. This morning, Rodríguez announced his retirement from baseball. The decision does not come as a complete surprise. Rodríguez suffered a concussion earlier this season. Treatment of the injury has not resulted in much progress. And Rodríguez, cognizant of the odds, had already called his return doubtful. The team will continue to explore its options for replacing Rodríguez. This year Rodríguez has hit 3 home runs and posted a .273 batting average. |
