SAA's #1 Player, Newell of Irving Monday, September 13th, 2021 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the USSL Double A, but last week Dennis Newell of the Irving Blue Sox reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Newell rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (3-for-6), 2 home runs and 5 RBIs to come away with the award. For the year Newell is batting .295 with 90 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 36 times and driven in 43. |
