5-Hit Game for Chambers Sunday, June 6th, 2021 It was a sensational day at the plate for Robbie Chambers, but a letdown as well as the Sonics dropped the game 12-8 to the Hops. Nonetheless the Atlantic City shortstop was pure misery for the Yakima pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Chambers said. The manager of the Hops told BNN reporters after the game, "Chambers put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Robbie Chambers singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season Chambers is batting .268 with 26 hits, no home runs, 7 RBIs, .343 OBP and has scored 15 runs. |
