Gómez Sharp, Whitewashes Longnecks Friday, July 30th, 2021 Ricardo Gómez of the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds just toyed with the Bloomington Longnecks today, blanking them 7-0. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 6-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and no walks. "I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Gómez said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there." One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do." Checking out his stats for the season, Gómez has notched 8 wins and 2 losses in 12 starts, 3.09 ERA and struck out 53 batters in 93.1 innings. |
