Robinson Belts Bunch of Base Hits Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 History in the making. That's what the fans at Marquette Stadium got to see today in the Marquette 4-3 triumph over the Athletic Club KC Academy. Greg Robinson of the Athletic Club KC Academy came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against the Miners. "It was a great day for me, but a disappointing one for our fans," he said to the reporters covering the game. "I wish I could have won it for them. They like stats, but they love winning." In the postgame press conference the Marquette skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink. I am just glad we escaped with a win. Robinson was lethal." Greg Robinson singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Robinson is batting .261 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs. In 30 games he has scored 16 times. |
