Streak Finally Over, Douglas Held Hitless Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Thatcher Douglas as he saw his 28-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Screaming Eagles. It wasn't all bad for the 20-year-old center fielder and the Athletic Club KC Academy, as they defeated Mercer Island 5-1 at KC Academy Field. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Douglas laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." This year Douglas has hit at a .330 pace and produced 33 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 43 runs. |
