Skipper Sáenz Cut by Lionhearts Sunday, September 27th, 2020 You can't fire the players when times get tough. António Sáenz learned that the hard way today as he was dismissed from his managerial position with the Lannister United Lionhearts. Citing a need to "shake things up," a team official said it was time to move on. "We respect what António has done for the club and we thank him for his time here, but we just think the future of the Lionhearts needs to be handled by someone else and needs to move in a different direction," said the club's general manager in a prepared statement. For his part, Sáenz remained upbeat about the decision. "I know it's a business and sometimes you've just got to make a change," he said. "I want to thank Lannister United for the opportunity to manage here." Team officials are expected to announce an interim manager in the next few days. |
