Kingston Township Legion 9 Ace Named 3L Outstanding Hitter Award Friday, October 9th, 2020 Not only has Shigemasa Horiuchi been named winner of the 2020 Third League Outstanding Hitter Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in Menard's Third League. "I feel fortunate to win this award at age 25," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times." The Kingston Township Legion 9 ace had a 16-2 record over 24 starts and 156.1 innings. He struck out 162, issued 37 walks and had an impressive 1.55 ERA. Batters hit only .194 against him during the season. Bob Dickerson of the Houston 1837 Colt .45s finished second in voting, while Melvin Castro of the Panama City Piranhas finished third. |
