Smith Goes on Rampage Against Express Friday, September 11th, 2020 David Smith exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Lumberjacks Ballpark. The Thunder Bay center fielder had a field day in the 9-7 triumph over the Wizarding Express, finishing 5-for-7. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Smith must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. David Smith grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off George Ricker in the 9th, singled in the 11th, walked in the 13th and grounded out in the 15th. This season Smith is batting .373 with 9 home runs. His totals include 35 RBIs and 53 runs scored. |
