Big Day for Mendoza: Swats 5 Hits Friday, August 7th, 2020 History in the making. That's what the fans at Mango Yard got to see today, when Connetquot outplayed the Mango 8-6. Fernando Mendoza of the Chiefs came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Provo. In the postgame press conference the Provo skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink." Fernando Mendoza singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
